In 2017 I received an email from Dash design New York. A design agency involved with the renovation of the Renaissance Hotel in Curaçao. They came across my work and wrote to me they were interested in potentially commissioning me for art work for the hotel.
A studio visit followed and they explained their ideas and wishes. They were looking for art works for all of the 223 rooms!
An intensive period of designing and re-designing started.
When all designs were approved, I approached Shapelab in Tilburg (NL) to help me with reproducing the originals, which were made in ceramic, into polyurethane.
Molds were made and the final product was attached to a wooden back panel with a cerused oak finish.
Here you see some pictures of the process.
